Ingredients

  • 1 ripe avocado about half a cup when mashed
  • 1 large banana fresh or frozen works great
  • 1 cup milk dairy, almond, oat, or any milk you prefer
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup optional, depending on your sweetness preference
  • ½ cup ice cubes skip if using frozen banana
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract optional but recommended
  • Pinch of cinnamon adds warmth and depth

Instructions

  • Prep your ingredients. Cut the avocado in half, remove the pit, and scoop out the flesh. Peel your banana and break it into chunks. This makes blending easier and faster.
  • Add liquids first. Pour your milk into the blender before adding anything else. This prevents ingredients from getting stuck at the bottom and helps everything blend smoothly.
  • Toss in the fruits. Add your avocado chunks and banana pieces to the blender. If you're using any optional ingredients like honey or vanilla, add them now.
  • Add ice and seasonings. Drop in your ice cubes and sprinkle in that pinch of cinnamon. The ice makes it refreshingly cold and adds thickness.
  • Blend until smooth. Start on low speed and gradually increase to high. Blend for about 30-45 seconds until everything is completely smooth and creamy. You shouldn't see any avocado chunks!
  • Check consistency and adjust. If it's too thick, add a splash more milk. Too thin? Add more ice or a few more avocado chunks. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed.
  • Serve immediately. Pour into your favorite glass and enjoy right away for the best texture and flavor. You can garnish with a sprinkle of cinnamon or a few banana slices if you're feeling fancy.
