Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup fresh or frozen strawberries hulled if fresh
  • 1 large ripe banana fresh or frozen
  • 1 cup vanilla ice cream about 2 scoops
  • ½ cup milk any kind works – dairy, almond, oat
  • ½ cup ice cubes optional, for extra thickness
  • 1 tablespoon honey optional, for extra sweetness
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract optional, but recommended

Instructions
 

  • Prep your fruit. If using fresh strawberries, remove the green tops and cut them in half. Peel your banana and break it into chunks. This helps your blender work more efficiently.
  • Add ingredients to the blender. Start with the liquid (milk) first, then add the strawberries, banana chunks, and ice cream. This order prevents the blender from getting stuck.
  • Toss in the extras. Add your ice cubes if you want a thicker consistency. Pour in the honey if you prefer it sweeter, and add the vanilla extract for extra flavor depth.
  • Blend on high. Start at a lower speed and gradually increase to high. Blend for 30-60 seconds until completely smooth and creamy. You shouldn't see any chunks of fruit.
  • Check the consistency. If it's too thick, add a splash more milk and blend again. If it's too thin, add more ice cream or a few more ice cubes.
  • Serve immediately. Pour into glasses and enjoy right away for the best texture and temperature. You can garnish with a fresh strawberry on the rim if you're feeling fancy!
